Velosity Acquires Lucid Labs, Expanding Product Development, Engineering and Manufacturing Capabilities

New product development, engineering and rapid prototyping services help medical device companies accelerate development and move more seamlessly toward commercialization

FOREST LAKE, MN (Sept. 15, 2026)Velosity has acquired Lucid Labs, an advanced engineering and precision machining company, expanding its ability to support the medical device industry from early product development through commercialization. The acquisition brings product development, engineering and rapid prototyping expertise together with Velosity’s established manufacturing capabilities, creating a more connected path from concept to market.

Based in Rogers, Minn., Lucid Labs has been a trusted development partner to leading medtech original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) for more than 20 years, helping accelerate the design, development and commercialization of innovative medical technologies. The acquisition expands Velosity’s ability to engage with customers earlier in the product development cycle, helping guide products from concept development and prototyping through manufacturing and commercialization. With embedded engineering support working directly alongside customer teams, Velosity can now help evaluate designs, develop and refine prototypes, address manufacturability considerations, and prepare products for production.

As part of the transaction, Lucid founder and CEO Tim Hillukka will join Velosity as Chief Innovation Officer, leading ideation and innovation across the combined customer base.
