Our History and Expertise
Velosity brings together more than 200 years of combined experience and industry knowledge, built through decades of manufacturing expertise, strategic acquisitions and continued investment in new capabilities.
Our history began in 1965, when Custom Mold and Design (CMD) began establishing its reputation for manufacturing expertise and quality. Over the years, Teamvantage Molding (est. 1972), MMD Medical (est. 1973), Paradigme Engineering (est. 1994) and CMD Precision (est. 2008) joined the organization, bringing complementary capabilities and experience.
In 2026, Velosity expanded its capabilities with the acquisition of Rogers, Minnesota-based Lucid Labs, adding expertise in embedded engineering and rapid prototyping to help customers move from early concepts toward manufacturing readiness and production.
Today, Velosity is a leading Minnesota medical device contract manufacturer, providing mission-critical solutions for medical device OEMs and defense manufacturers.
Medical Device and Defense Manufacturing
Velosity supports a broad range of medical device applications, including electrophysiology, cardiac rhythm management, neuromodulation, bioelectronic solutions, surgical instruments, robotic-assisted surgery, diabetes management and drug delivery. For defense customers, our capabilities support applications such as precision-guided systems, fuzing and naval systems.
Our capabilities span embedded engineering, product development, design for manufacturability, precision machining, tooling, injection molding and cleanroom manufacturing, and assembly. With Class 7 and Class 8 cleanrooms, quality management systems, and a focus on quality, precision, and manufacturability, we work alongside customers to address complex requirements and support reliable production.
